NEAV is the alter-ego of gifted young singer/songwriter Niamh Watson. Born in Scotland and based just north of Sydney Australia, NEAV is working on her debut EP, collaborating with the likes of Mario Späte (Washington, Montaigne), Jess Dess (King Princess, Kelly Rowland, Brockhampton), Rod McCormack (Paul Kelly, Gina Jeffreys), David Turley (Millie Turner) and Tristan Barton (Greta Stanley) to create her dark pop infused music. NEAV has released three singles to date and has received high praise from Rolling Stone Australia, and Triple J.
NEAV has shared a stage and supported artists such as Bec Sandridge, Imogen Clark, Little Quirks, Elaskia, Amy Vee, Molly Millington and The Sea Gypsies in venues including The Factory Theatre in Sydney and Drifters Wharf on the Central Coast.
As a prolific songwriter, NEAV has been the recipient of various awards and accolades. She took out first place in the Pop/Contemporary category of 'The Australian Songwriting Awards 2020', received 'The Songwriting Prize 2020', and in the same year, received a coveted nomination for the 'APRA AMCOS/ASA Songwriter of the Year'. In previous years she contributed lyrics and vocals to the Independent Music Awards nominated Album 'Elevacion' by Puerto Rican band SACH; was a finalist in the UK Song Academy 'Young International Songwriter of the Year' competition; and has twice been a semi-finalist in the International Songwriting Competition (ISC).
Still only 18 years old, NEAV is signed to ORiGiN Music Publishing (publishing home of Gotye, Megan Washington, Lior) and Sydney based boutique independent record label Double Drummer (Greta Stanley, Cousin Tony's Brand New Firebird, Dominic Breen).
"A stellar new release, 'Built The Same' has allowed NEAV to delve further into emotive songwriting by exploring new themes and sounds."
